Welcome to the 5th Edition of the Montreal International Short Film Festival - Evening Courts!
This Edition, which will take place exceptionally in the open air, will bring its share of questions, so here is some information that will be very useful to you!

WHAT ARE THE DATES OF THE FESTIVAL?
The Festival will be held from Wednesday 23 to Sunday 27 September 2020.
A special youth evening called LES COURTS SUR PATTES will take place before the Festival, on Friday September 11, 2020.
WHERE WILL THE FESTIVAL TAKE PLACE?
The Festival will take place completely outdoors, in various locations and neighborhoods in Montreal. You can find all the information on our Festival Venues page.
Note that the location of our outdoor headquarters as well as the UnisTV Bistro was unveiled in mid-September.
MY EVENT DOESN'T TAKE PLACE, IS IT NORMAL?
If so, it's taking place in our future Outdoor Headquarters, which is very cool, you'll see! Its location is still secret, however, it will be revealed in mid-September. Still a little patience!
HOW TO LOCATE A PLACE IN THE CITY?
Our places are all marked with our orange flags. The UnisTV Bistro is signposted by blue flags.
WILL THERE BE ONLINE ACTIVITIES?
Yes, but very little! We love cinema on the big screen too much! Only the Aspiring Filmmakers Competition
will be broadcast live on our Facebook page
on September 26 at 2:00 PM.
The short films that will win a Prize will be available for free on the TV5unis.ca platform from September 24 to 27, 2020.
WILL I BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FESTIVAL IF I AM NOT IN MONTREAL / CANADA?
If you are in Canada, you can enjoy our online programs as well as our Short Film Awards on TV5unis.ca
If you are outside of Canada, only the programs broadcast on our facebook page will be accessible. You can still follow us via our social networks, on Facebook

AND FOR PROS APPOINTMENTS?
The program for the Rendez-Vous Pros will be put online on September 14, 2020. For these activities, free online reservations will again be VERY strongly recommended.
IS THERE A PROGRAM PRINTED THIS YEAR?
Unfortunately no. Everything is done so that nothing can transmit potential small microbes to you ... However, its digital equivalent will be available online from mid-September!
IS THE PROGRAMMING FOR ALL PUBLIC?
The programming is accessible to everyone, including young moviegoers. However, some programs may contain scenes which may offend the sensitivity of some people.
The very young festival-goers have programs called Les Courts sur Pattes which are specially dedicated to them.
ARE THE FILMS IN ORIGINAL VERSION?
Yes! But subtitled in French or English.
BOOKING AND TICKETING
WHAT ARE THE COSTS TO ATTEND THE FESTIVAL?
ALL screenings and activities, including at Rendez-Vous Pros, are FREE

But beware! We still advise you to reserve your places in advance for free on our online TICKET OFFICE
! DO I NEED TO RESERVE MY TICKETS IN ADVANCE?
Yes! We highly recommend it! The number of places on our sites being severely limited
due to physical distancing, reserving your place in advance ensures that you can enter our screening venues! Entries without a ticket may be refused if the seat quota is reached for a program. To reserve seats, it's here, on our TICKET OFFICE
! MY EVENT DOESN'T HAVE A TICKET OFFICE, IS THIS NORMAL?
Do not panic! Yes! If your event takes place in our future Outdoor Headquarters, the box office will be open as soon as we reveal its location in mid-September. Follow us on our social networks, wait and book as soon as the information comes out to guarantee you places! WHY DID YOU SET UP A TICKET OFFICE IF IT'S FREE?
For two reasons!
The first is to limit the number of people present on our sites at the same time, in order to respect the mandatory physical distancing.
The second is to be able to contact our festival-goers in the event of a proven COVID-19 contamination of a person who would have been present at the Festival. People arriving without a ticket will also be required to leave us their contact details.
ARE THERE SPECIAL REGULATIONS RELATED TO COVID-19?
Obviously! Everything is explained below. We also remind you that anyone who does not comply with government regulations will be escorted away from our sites.
WHAT ARE THE BASIC RULES ON YOUR SITES?
- Do not come to the Festival if you experience symptoms related to COVID-19 such as fever, cough, breathing difficulties, etc.
- Respect the 2 meters of physical distance with people who do not come from the same household as you.
- Disinfect hands when entering the site and before ordering at the bar.
- Wear a mask when you are standing or traveling (see next question)
- Avoid contact with other people (shaking hands, hugs, kisses, etc.)
- Leave your details if you enter the Festival without a pre-booked ticket.
SHOULD I WEAR A MASK?
And yes! Whenever you travel to our sites, you must wear your best face cover. You can still remove it once installed to take advantage of our programs. Additional masks will be available at the entrances to our sites for the heads in the air!
WHY SHOULD I LEAVE MY CONTACT INFORMATION?
So that we can contact you if a proven case of COVID-19 contamination occurs in a festival goer. This is also compulsory if you wish to enter the Festival sites.
Your contact details will be destroyed within one month of the last day of the Festival.
