Inspired by a true story, Devenir Margot tells how Marylise embraces a therapeutic lie in order to reconnect with her father Roger who, living with Alzheimer’s, suddenly mistakes her for a childhood friend: Margot. What begins as a burden gradually leads her down an entirely unexpected path. With a realistic, almost documentary tone, the film allows audiences to identify with the protagonist and, in doing so, to journey with her through the challenges and dilemmas of caregiving. Devenir Margot explores the universal themes of family, memory, and forgiveness, offering a touching look at the complexity of human relationships and the power of emotional connection that transcends distress and confusion.
