Montréal, March 10, 2026. The Festival Courts d’un soir is proud to partner with TV5 Québec Canada to present the world premiere of Surf Bay, côte Ouest, directed by Dominic Desjardins, during the opening night of its 11th edition on April 9. Three episodes will be screened exclusively ahead of the series’ online release.

We are delighted to once again collaborate with TV5 and producers Magali Gillon-Krizaj (Reign Films) and Anthony Cauchy (Locomotive Média) to exclusively present the very first French-language drama series produced in British Columbia. The series stars Camille Felton, Mia Wistaff, Tony Hiu Joong Giroux, Henri Picard, France Perras, Jessica Heafey and Karl Walcott. Surf Bay, côte Ouest follows Margot Swann, a professional surfer whose life is turned upside down when she puts her career at risk to protect the old-growth forest in her hometown on Vancouver Island. The series was produced by Unis TV in collaboration with Bell Media, with financial support from the Canada Media Fund and Creative BC.

The screening will take place on April 9, 2026, at 7 p.m. in the National Film Board of Canada’s Alanis Obomsawin Theatre in Montréal. It will be followed by a Q&A featuring several members of the series’ creative team.

Two other Unis TV series will also premiere at the festival.

First, on Sunday, April 12, audiences will have the exclusive opportunity to watch the entire series U-Hauling: Algorithmes amoureux, by Dani Vermette. This second season follows Ash as they explore the world of online dating. Between dates and advice from their chosen family, Ash learns about love in the age of dating apps. A Roméo & Fils production.

Finally, during its closing night on April 16, the festival will present the world premiere of Groupe de soutien, by Alexandre Pelletier. The series follows Florian, a professional liar desperate for validation, who poses as a therapist in an anxiety support group. Completely unequipped to help its members, Florian discovers that the group’s strength may enable them to face their demons and finally heal. A Roméo & Fils production.

The full program for the 11th edition of the Festival Courts d’un soir will be unveiled gradually on our social media platforms beginning Tuesday, March 10. Stay tuned for the complete lineup: courtsdunsoir.com

The festival extends its heartfelt thanks to its partners: TV5, its driving partner, and the Canada Media Fund, presenting partner of the Series Market. Special thanks also go to the National Film Board of Canada for hosting our screenings.
