The 2024 awards ceremony celebrated outstanding works and recognized the talent of the filmmakers, artists, and teams who distinguished themselves across our various competitions.

From short films and series to music videos, discover the award-winning works and the special mentions presented by our juries. Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you to our partners for their invaluable support.

Official Competition — Short Films

Golden Hourglass — Best Canadian Short Film

The Golden Hourglass for Best Canadian Short Film was presented to I Never Promised You a Jasmine Garden, by Teyama Alkamli.

The team received $5,000 in equipment rentals from Grandé Montréal, along with a $1,000 grant from Desjardins.

Jury Special Mention: Insta Gay, by Simon Paluck.

International Grand Prize — Best International Short Film

The Grand Prize for Best International Short Film was presented to Tits, directed by Eivind Landsvik.

The team received $1,500 in services from Cinélume.

Jury’s Choice Award — Best Quebec Short Film

The Jury’s Choice Award was presented to Mothers & Monsters, directed by Edith Jorisch.

The team received $2,000 in equipment rentals from SLA Location.

Jury Special Mention: Un trou dans la poitrine, an animated short film directed by Alexandra Myotte and Jean-Sébastien Hamel.

Best French-Canadian Short Film Award

The Best French-Canadian Short Film Award was presented to Le dernier rhinocéros, directed by Guillaume Harvey.

The team received a $500 grant from Desjardins.

Emerging Filmmaker Award

The Emerging Filmmaker Award for Best Short Film was presented to Blueprint, by Lada Kopytova.

The winner received a $500 grant from the Festival Courts d’un soir.

Series Competition

Grand Prize — National Short-Form Series

The Grand Prize for Best National Short-Form Series was presented to Les mals-aimants, directed by Zoé Tremblay-Bianco.

The team received a $1,000 grant from Unis TV.

Emerging Short-Form Series Award

The Emerging Short-Form Series Award was presented to Mes plus beaux jours, directed by Philippe Cormier.

The team received $1,500 in equipment rentals from Royal Photo.

Best International Series Award

The Best International Series Award was presented to Canis familiaris, directed by Joris Goulenok.

The team received $1,500 in services from Cinélume.

Best National Mid-Form Series Award

The Best National Mid-Form Series Award was presented to Les météorites, directed by Nadia Louis-Desmarchais.

The team received $3,000 in equipment rentals from Dima and Entreprises Vidéo Service.

La Fête du Clip

Jury Prize — Best Music Video

The Jury Prize for Best Music Video was presented to Vincent Khouni’s L’exil, directed by Julien Falardeau.

The team received $1,500 in equipment rentals from SLA Location.

Jury Special Mention: Dominique Fils-Aimé’s My Mind at Ease, directed by Adrian Villagomez.

Best Artist Award

The Best Artist Award was presented to Komedza for the two music videos IMPVSSE and Deux pieds sur terre, directed by Philippe Vanasse-Paquet.

The artist received $1,000 in promotional exposure on CHOQ.ca.

Audience Award

The Audience Award was presented to Vendou’s 90’s Kid, directed by Cédric Demers.

The team received $2,000 in equipment rentals from Royal Photo.

Speed Clip Award

The Audience Award for Best Music Video Created in 72 Hours was presented to Steven Sim’s JDCJDR, directed by Gillie Cinneri, Lucas Marbach, and Raphaël Beaumier-Dionne.

The team received a $250 grant, along with screenings at the VKRS Festival and La Fête du Clip in Lyon.
